- The decision of the Awards Committee is final and not subject to appeal.
- An award may not be presented if, in the opinion of the judges, no suitable candidate has been nominated for the specific category.
- If the entry contains any feature that is, or could be, protected by patent rights the submission must be accompanied by written evidence demonstrating that the necessary steps have been taken to secure the requisite legal protection; neither the sponsor of the VICA Award nor the Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) can assume any responsibility for “prior disclosure” in advance of a patent application.
- All submissions in support of a Nominee for the VICA Awards become the property of VICA.
- All photographs submitted with VICA Award nominations also become the property of VICA.
JUDGING PROCESS
- A panel of judges will review and score all submissions against the prescribed criteria. The judges reserve the right to re-assign entries to the category they deem fit. The judges' marks will account for 75% of your final score.
- A separate and independent online vote by members will then occur. Voting will be limited to one vote per member company per category. This vote accounts for 25% of your final score. The combined results of the judges scoring, and the members voting will constitute the winner.
