PROJECT ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

The 2024 VICA Awards are open to all VICA Industry Members in good standing. Nominees must have been VICA Members for a minimum of six (6) months at time of submission. Submissions for the VICA Awards can be self-nominated or independently nominated.

You will be asked to submit:

  • Certificate of Substantial Completion for this project
  • Project description of why the nominee is worthy, including 500-word (maximum) project summary.
  • Two (2) or more letters of support validating the VICA Award nomination.
  • Six high-resolution photographs and/or multimedia

Award Conditions:

  • A member may only submit one (1) project per category.
  • The Chair of the VICA Board of Directors is not eligible during the year in which he or she holds such position.
  • A Project Achievement Award may not be presented if, in the opinion of the judges, no suitable candidate has been nominated for the specific category.
  • The decision of the Awards Committee is final and not subject to appeal.
  • If the project entry contains any feature that is, or could be, protected by patent rights the submission must be accompanied by written evidence demonstrating that the necessary steps have been taken to secure the requisite legal protection; neither the sponsor of the VICA Award nor the Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) can assume any responsibility for “prior disclosure” in advance of a patent application.
  • All photographs submitted become the property of VICA. These will be used to promotion. Photographs should be in high resolution .jpg, .png, or RAW formats.

JUDGING PROCESS

  1. A panel of judges will review and score all submissions against the prescribed criteria. The judges reserve the right to re-assign entries to the category they deem fit. The judges results will account for 75% of your final score.
  2. A separate and independent online vote by members will then occur. The members online vote accounts for 25% of your final score. The combined results of the judges scoring, and the members voting will constitute the winner.
